Need An Offset Bbq. Any Suggestions?

Featured Replies

I have been trying to find an offset BBQ, where the fire box is off to the side of the smoker box (and can be doubled as a grill). I had a New Braunsfels in the US and loved it. Char-Broil bought out New Braunsfels and now makes a cheaper version, but they do not sell to Thailand, and it would cost over $1,000 to ship one here.

Does anyone know of a place where I can get an offset BBQ? I would buy one off the shelf or get one made if I could find someone to make it.

Most of the large bbq units I've seen in Thailand are made using 55gal (200liter) drums. Very cheap, around 300 baht for empty drums, and easy to make by a Thai shop with arc/welding cutter. Probably just bring a photo of what you would like and they can whip one together.

There's an American guy in Udon who should be able to help you. Looks like he knows what he's doing. Just do an online search for "bbq udon" and it'll bring up the website.
