Buy Us Dollars In Pattaya..

Featured Replies

I'm going to Seam Reap for a couple of weeks. Need to buy US dollars as that's what counts in Cambo. What's the smartest and cheapest way to do it in Pattaya ??

I have no idea which bank/exchange office gives the best rate here but as an alternative, ATMs in Cambodia dispense USD.

(some) SCB ATM's at BKK airport dispense USD

Bank Gold in Soi Rungland off South Pattaya Road

Get a bunch of $1,$5 etc in Patters, Bank Gold or yenjet is good, also get enough big money to get you settled in Cambodia. Then use ATM in Cambodia to get more as needed.

Plenty of ATM & banks in Cambodia these days,

also the shop at rungland on south pattaya rd just above 3rd rd intersection.

ed suggest have a whole bunch of 1 dollar bills, at least 100

Thanks a lot for Your help ..

TT Money Changers are the best place for the best rate and they're always happy to sell foreign currency.

They're the bright yellow booths. There's a couple at the start of 2nd Road on both sides of the road.

You will get a much better rate for your Thai baht>US$<baht with the money changers around the Central (New) Market (Psar Tmei) and St. 136 in Phnom Penh, compared to Thai banks especially. The money changers closer to Sorya Shopping Centre, 2 minutes from Central Market, tend to be a bit less generous. The one I use all the time is on St. 136, which starts on eastern edge of the Central Market circular road. (The market is the giant, bright yellow and white building.) He has streetside kiosk on the south side of 136, right at the corner of St 53 (Calmette). This is also Pharmacy Street. Very cheap!

One more thing, don't get any tears or rips in the higher denominations (like 20, 50 or 100 USD Notes) as the Cambodians don't like it and most will not accept it anymore.
