This bad weather is supposed to be clearing up tomorrow - I hope so.

That would be great, weekend is coming.. In a way this has been good for doing boring office work, which has been waiting for bad weather.

Green, clean and cool. I like it.

me too. at least we don't get seriously crazy weather here like the Philippines or US mid west of south east

stormy makes a nice change from hot and sunny all the time but it never gets life or property threatening levels in phuket

My question is - is the monsoon always like this in Phuket??

I recently moved form Bangkok. Two last rainy seasons there were most of the time...nice and sunny. A rain or two a day and that's it. But what I see in Phuket for the last few days is depressing.

cheers!

Phuket rainfall is on average 50% more than Bangkok. Having said that, the overall climte in much more agreeable and there is little pollution to contend with. Edited by metice

Yet another grey day. Have to put lights on during the day..

Who can I talk to to get this bad weather postponed? Its just that I arrive tomorrow and would much rather we have a sunny holiday with not so much wind.

Now I start to feel sorry for you.. How long are you going to stay on the island?

Edit: It was there earlier. 9 days.

Hopefully the weather will get better soon..

Reasonably ok in Kata. Saw some blue skies today, more than 1 hour, and just a bit of rain. Also far less wind than yesterday.

Anyone with a crystal ball able to predict mid next week? smile.png

I would give this task to someone who has positive attitude towards life. Who would that be in TV Phuket?

Then again.. the prediction could be "Next week will rain constantly, which is nice."

Right now. No wind at all. The air is full of moisture. I'm sweating doing nothing.

"I'm sweating doing nothing" - why wouldn't you? Doing nothing is hard work. :) :)

15 minutes and full blown rain with thunders directly on top.

I'm sure that I would not predict the weather for more than 10 minutes anymore.

I don't have a crystal ball but at least I have this site: http://panphuket.com/weather Looks like more of the same.

thanks, looks like the impossible dream won't happen then, only selected Phuket & Koh Lak because I thought it would be drier than Koh Chang, live and learn on the back of early bookings I guess, anyone know of any islands that aren't literally swimming?

At the moment the forecast starting for next Thursday is more or less ok. (next days are not too bad as well, strong wind but not much rain). Problem is any forecast more than 2 days in advance is really unreliable.

Truly there is no forecasting the weather here. It can be raining heavily right down the road, but not raining at my house. I hope you didn't want to get a suntan and swim at the beach! By the way, both can be deadly here. Enjoy, but be careful especially if going into the Andaman Sea at this time of the year unless you really know what you are doing and are a very good swimmer with good swim fins!

@jimi007 Please remove that picture. Let's just pretend it was never posted here. Maybe the weather would be nice tomorrow.

LOL! What's the matter with you? It's nice! Not hot, no tourists out, all's good! I do need some new windshield wiper blades on my truck though!

I'm so sick and tired of this constant rain an humidity. Fuu.. for it.

For the last week I have spend most of my time inside the home, not going anywhere. Few short trips to local village to get items I need, that's all.

One more week locked in here.. and you'll all be miserable when I start complaining things which suck in Phuket.. just an warning :)

There are not a lot of tourists in my area, so in that way it does not really matter if it's high season or this "green season".

I just want dry air with lovely sunshine, not this constant rain with gray skies.

I live near the beach, not out in the jungle like you. You won't hear me complaining! Other than I have to drive my truck with a lot less traffic, instead of one of my motorbikes... The outside temperature is only 27º C, how can you complain?

I have 100 meters to the sea.. but it's till jungle as there is nobody around.

I'm not happy as I was planing to ride to Phang Nga today. Do so geocaching and take some photos. With this weather, impossible.

Temperature around here is 25 and drops to 24C. I'm using wool socks during nights..It's bloody freezing up here :)

Actually I like the cool temperature, but the moisture, which is all around, is something I would be happy to donate to Sahara.
