More and more there are those in the reds who believe they can do as they like

They won the election! That's their mindset.

Yes and they've been known to say it as a reason to do what they like.

Shades of the early days of national socialism in Germany eh? Now Thaksin's mobs are showing their support for democracy! Nazi Style! Bring it on!

These thugs and their leaders might like to research what happened to the SA after Hitler achieved total domination. Like every other despot, including several English monarchs, they got rid off all opposition, real and prospective - even family members.

Pi55ed with power is a phrase that comes to mind when I view this mindless rabble. If they achieve their ends Thailand can look forward to insurrections and guerrilla warfare until true democracy breaks out. Can we look forward to troops wearing light blue helmets patrolling the streets?

Ok for the sake of peace I will chose a side just for you. O.K I chose Yellow and I hope that is in line with your thinking. Now I am going to have some redshirt supporter attack me and for the sake of peace I will have to chose red. It is not easy to sit on the fence when both sides are against you.

I looked at the pic again in the op and I still can't see any evidence of violence from either side a little to and fro from both sides but no violence.

"I looked at the pic again in the op and I still can't see any evidence of violence from either side a little to and fro from both sides but no violence."

So those two 'peaceful' Red Shirts the two policeman are holding back and the little guy in the stripped shirt in his best Bruce Lee pose are demonstrating their 'peaceful' intentions? The guy in the white mask is moving away while putting his arm up in a defensive posture, why? If the Reds aren't displaying any violent actions what does he seem to be protecting himself from?

Calling yourself a 'Yellow supporter does nothing for me as I think the Yellows who invaded Government House and occupied the airport should all be in jail. When you say you are a fence- sitter, you are being disingenuous and insulting what little intelligence I may have. I'm done arguing with you.

I actually said I will support yellow for you in the name of peace. I was actually sitting on the fence and you accused me of being a red even tho I distinctly said I did not support either. I will say again I personally think both sides are as bad as each other. When there is a thread about the colours some members get extremely upset and aggressive if you do not take their side. There is always accusations or you are a red lover or you are a yellow lover being inbetween is not permitted.

Thank you for accusing me of wearing red glasses but I am definitely not a red shirt supporter nor am I a yellow shirt supporter. Personally I think they are as bad as each other. I sit on the fence and watch and haven't taken sides. It appears that you have chosen you side. Maybe it is easier to make an observation if you do not have bias opinion.

If you have noticed some of my other posts I condemn both sides on certain issues.

Some people seem to think that by taking the stance that both sides are as bad as each other, that must automatically make their position neutral. It does not. In terms of violence, intimidation and destruction, the red shirt movement has been responsible for a lot more than any other group (this incident being a prime example of how they operate).

Failing to acknowledge the differences that separate the red shirt movement from others, and attempting as you are, to label them all as bad as each other, is just a backhanded attempt at playing down what the red shirts are guilty of. It is the sort of approach i have observed in quite a number of people who were once vocal in their support of the reds, and who still deep down have their sympathies in that direction, but who have realized that actually defending the red shirts has become too difficult a task with all that they have done in the last few years, and so instead they take a different approach, that of attempting to distribute the blame out equally on all sides.

I wish some could just accept that other can be fence sitters.

O.K O.K to stop people attacking me I will declare I hate the red shirt people and everything they stand for. They are the lowlifes of human race, nothing but violent murdering evil scum. Lower than dog <deleted> and every one of them should be exterminated. I hope that is what everyone wants to hear and helps to keep the peace here.

Hardly looks like an attack but more like a staged event. You have six people wearing red clothing and one with a mask. Everyone seems to be in party mood with happy smiling faces. Look at the pic, that is definitely staged. The guy in red is smiling and the little woman in the stripes is apparently being held back by the invisible man.

I think that's because it's just a single picture which doesn't show what's really happening. The videos show it better.

I have to say that there seemed to be some action by the police but certainly not enough.

I'm fairly certain that the actions by these red shirts aren't supported by many reds in general.

I accept people are fence sitters, or neutral, not when that is what they tell me they are, but when their views expressed reflect that sort of position. Your views, in my opinion, frequently do not, and your comments at the start of this thread before you started getting silly and facetious, demonstrated this, by your claims from seeing one photo that the incident was staged.

It is a photograph capturing one instant. Would you like to see one of a flying car, or one of a fist connecting with a big POW on it?

That would be the many reds who didn't burn down the how many town halls in 2010?

Do you mean the red shirts who didn't burn down the town halls or the ones who did but claim they didn't? I'm assuming the latter and you don't agree with me. I just don't think all red shirts are violent. My bil is a redshirt supporter but I doubt he is violent and that goes for many that I've met. I think the majority just want a better life and believe (wrongly in my view that Thaksin and the PTP) will do that for them.

Don't forget that the majority of those who voted for the PTP didn't go to Bangkok in 2010 or to any other rallies. Of those that did most didn't get involved in violence and apparently many who did go were prevented from leaving when they saw the violence.

I don't agree with Thaksin, many in the PTP or the violent red shirts but I think labelling them all the same is counter productive.

I could only comment and that is what I did, on what was in the O.P and that was a short story with a photograph. My apologies to all as it appears I have upset some with my opinion on the photograph. I am also extremely sorry for claiming to be neutral as this also seems to upset a few. Again to all my deepest apologies.

Typical ranting of a typical red supporter. Why would anyone want to stage something like this ? The whiteys were darn lucky they did not have grenades thrown at them and their restaurant burnt down.

Every time I use the Bangkok Bank ATM in Thapae Road Chiang Mai I think about the redshirted goon attacking it with a sledge hammer that day. Scum of the Earth.

the news on channel 3 have just finished reporting it and you could clearly see in the videos large stones being hurled at the white masks and the police making a half hearted attempt at holding the red shirts back. my girlfriend was calling them stupid and got upset when she saw a stone hit one of the protestors in the head. there seemed to be one very aggressive 'red shirt' who even seemed to push the police out of his way.

Not sure how you came to this conclusion.

There is another video of the Red Shirts burning posters and banners of white masks. I thought that staring fires was appropriate(typical behavior) of Reds Shirts.

Thank you for posting this. It does a good job showing what animals the Red Shirts are.

I don't care about red shirts, yellow shirts or any colour of shirt. I will not support any party who does things to the detriment of the ordinary people like stopping them going about their business and rioting at the airport and in the streets.

I took another look at this photo and think that you need to look again as well. I cannot see anyway to draw the same conclusion that you have.

The only reason they choose to wear masks is so hopefully people don't realise they are the same yellow faces that have been obstructing democracy for 8 years now.

When/where did peacefully criticising the government become "obstructing democracy"? Is violence against the white masks "supporting democracy"?

Is this the red shirt version of "democracy"?

They are openly calling for a military coup to overthrow the democratically elected government.

IF they are, and I don't believe they are, it appears nobody is listening. Does this give concerned citizens the right to form a militia and physically attack them in the streets?

Is this the red shirt version of "democracy"?
