DETROIT, MICHIGAN (BNO NEWS) -- Auto-maker General Motors (GM) on Monday announced the recall of nearly 200,000 SUV's, regulators said.

Among the SUV's involved in the recall are 2006 model year Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL SUVs, as well as 2006 and 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier, SAAB 9-7x, and Isuzu Ascender SUVs. The recall involves 193,652 vehicles.

According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a short in the circuit board could lead to a fire, increasing the risk of personal injury, detailing that a fire could occur even while the vehicle is not in use.

Furthermore, the NHTSA advised owners, as a precaution, to park outside until the remedy has been made. GM said an inspection of such vehicles is to take place, and in the case of a faulty vehicle, the driver's door module would be replaced.
