Based on reports from the boy and a driver the two monks allegedly took the boy to the temple in Chiang Dao several times since February. The two men, Bandit Boonkhum, age 23, and Saranyaphat Rungruang, age 20 denied all charges and refused to leave the monkhood. David48
If proven to be true ... this is sad at so many levels. Is there the presumption of innocent before guilty in Thailand? .
Salapoo
So it isn't only Catholic clergy, then.
Salapoo
Remember the Wat Dog scandle a few years ago. Monk thought to be sleeping with woman. Hidden video set up. The culprit has sex with a dog. Then another dog. Then woman. Then an other dog after she then left.

khaowong1
Boy, those Thai monks are a randy bunch.. If this is even slightly true, they should be thrown out of the monk hood and shown across all the Thai newspapers. This is even worse than monks flying around in private jets. SteeleJoe
So it isn't only Catholic clergy, then. This is not new. Quite a few years ago a government report stated what was not that big a surprise to people who had been paying attention over the years and who had onside red certain facts: monks and teacher were the most common offenders in sexual abuse of children, after family members ( always the largest group represented anywhere). (If someone calls for a source I don't know if I can find it...I saved some articles on it somewhere...or you can just assume I'm lying for some odd reason.) Songhua
The saddest part is that the youngster possibly thought he was going with the very people he should have been able to most trust.
SteeleJoe
The saddest part is that the youngster possibly thought he was going with the very people he should have been able to most trust. That is all too often the case with sexual abuse of children.
