Popular Post Cheapcharly
if you have to die tomorrow, where you want to die and what we do with your body? that s a big question you have to think about . personally I won't enjoy myself 5 feet under ground. I asked my lady to dispose of my body like Thai people. I would prefer to die in Thailand than in my home country . send back my body is useless and will cost to much.

Popular Post Loptr
I don't think we have much choice on exactly where we will die, unless we have a hand in our own demise. What to do with the body? I want a Viking funeral. Long tail boat on the Gulf of Thailand. Start the engine, set it alight and point it at the sunset.
Popular Post boosta
Makes absolutely no difference to me, food for worms or the vultures or add to the air pollution, I'm not around anymore. Just hope those I leave behind will be OK, have to hang in a bit longer to ensure that. . .
justben
I dont really mind where I die. What will it count for? But if I die in my home it would be ok by me if the tambon's rubbish collector takes my body with him. This is all a pipe dream though, as you must be in the correct type of bag to have the privilage of being hauled away with the local garbage.

Richie23
Another happy topic. First one I read was how I feel about it, now where? Think I'll pop down the pub. Mind you, the locals can be a tad depressing too
Songhua
I'd probably prefer to die at home rather than drop dead on the street. I've instructed my wife and kids to barbeque me when I'm gone.

thaimite
Not thst I expect to have any say in the mater but to die quietly at home would be ideal. then put my ashes in to a half empty bottle of Brandy and cast it upon the ocean. However I do like this quote “I'm not afraid of death; I just don't want to be there when it happens.”― Woody Allen Edited June 21, 2013 by thaimite
Popular Post kikoman
In Thailand, and a Thai style Cremation. Not ready yet to go to that big taco factory in the sky! Would like to hang around a little longer to share with my wife, family and a great many village friends! Cheers:
pattayadingo
My son told me he has no problem if I pop my clogs here in Thailand as long as he can come to the Thai style funeral, so to me, it does not matter where I die, though I'd prefer to die in bed making love with a beautiful woman.

joeaverage
my only hope is that when i go, i don't become fair game for a number of numpties convinced, on the strength of a news report translated by goolge, that i was killed by a woman.
Popular Post Salapoo
Old, in my bed, children and grandchildren around, them all having been well educated in how life and the World works. Cleaned up, burned, and sprinkled into a stream or field by those previously mentioned. Location matters not. breadbin
My grandfather died a peaceful death. He died in his sleep so he new nothing about it. ... Unlike the 3 passengers in his car who saw the lorry approaching and must have died a painful death.

notmyself
In the toilet, just after having a dump. Take whatever is of use for the benefit of others and use what is left to replenish the Earth. Cremation is not only giving the bird to those who you have lived with in the world (due to the use of energy used to burn you) but also giving the bird to those who come after. I would invite anyone to come up with a reason against that.

Popular Post geronimo
This reminds me of a funny situation, About 15 years ago, I accompanied a large group of Thai teachers to NZ. They were there for a workshop on Brain based learning and I was there as a translator. While the workshop was going on, all the teachers were in home stays dotted around Christchurch. We would meet up outside the training venue every morning and this one particular day, a young female teacher (who speaks little English) arrives so we get chatting and I ask her about her home stay family. She said the mother was very nice, then with a frown she said that the father was strange because every morning at breakfast he would ask her where she was going to die. She said that on one occasion she actually replied "Not know" and he laughed. Strange people she said, shaking her head. When I explained that they pronounce "day" as "die" she nearly did die! I saw the same girl on the opposite side of a busy city road and she frantically gestured for me to cross, so I pushed the button on the zebra crossing, the lights changed and I walked across to her. She looked puzzled, "How you do that? I been here twenty minutes waiting for light to change!
craig
I'm dead so I don't give a hoot....shipping the body to the USA is waste of money...I told my wife to cook me up & serve me to our dogs...she slapped me. Burn me at the temple.
Emdog
" I want a Viking funeral. Long tail boat on the Gulf of Thailand." Probably some jet ski dude will rent out a few seats and charge the Indians with destroying the boat. Win win situation

Tanlic
I don't mind how I die as long as I can come back as a racehorse win the Epsom Derby and retire to stud as a 3 year old.
