PATTAYA:--Two men on a motorbike were injured as they were shot trying to escape from a pick-up driver after a minor accident in a narrow street in Central Pattaya early on Saturday Morning.

Khun Prasit aged 26 had been shot in the stomach and taken to Hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable. His friend and passenger on the bike, Khun Yutagan aged 29 sustained facial injuries after he was struck across his face by the butt of a gun which was produced by Khun Gitapong aged 36, following the minor crash.

The suspect was arrested just 50 meters away from the incident at a Whisky Shop where he was sitting and drinking alone. He told Police he was an influential individual and was not concerned about being arrested which is why he made no attempt to leave the scene.

When I drive into Pattaya, somewhere around the Bangkok Hospital, the driving standards change from normal sloppy lane-drifting Thai driving to very aggressive boy-racer road-rage <deleted>-teenager type of driving. Foreign tourists, domestic migrant workers and Pattaya locals, they're all at it.

I really could do without it.

IF he does have influence and influential friends and gets away with this, that makes his friends as*holes like him and the justice system a mockery.... not that it isn't a mockery already in most cases.

Corruption - alive and well?

Below is a link to an article about what the Georgian (ex USSR) President did in regard to corruption. Perhaps he could move to Thailand?
