KhunBENQ
There are so many nice fruits. So what to do? Look up statistics and be surprised(?): Longan (ลำไย, Lam Yai) is by far the fruit with the highest production and exports. Followed in production by Durian, Mangosteen, Lychee, Rambutan, Mango, Pummelo, Pinneapple. I would vote against Mango and Pineapple as they are not really typiclal for Thailand but very widespread all over the tropical world. To be honest: I don't know a "national" fruit which would grow only in Thailand. But at least longan is a "southeastasian fruit". FWIW
According to wiki, there is no national fruit, and only 6 national symbols officially recognized. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_symbols_of_Thailand
KhunBENQ
Then is there a national fruit? The fruits of the Golden Shower Tree (Cassia Fistula). the national flower. And the fruits are more for medical purposes than for a juicy delight. And one of those "fruits" have made a dent to my parked car!
