ramrod711
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sR7OuU18e9E I'm sure Nattawut would stand up and take responsibility for any irregularities found......you know, just like he did after telling the world that he would take responsibility for burning the country, (see video)
Mampara
Of course their was no irregularity, how can their be any irregularity if everybody knew well in advance that there will be inspections coming.
rubl
When you cover 30% of warehouses how can you talk about 'redundancy'? Did he cover some warehouses more than once? Are some warehouses less interesting to check? Some warehouses empty anyway?
pb1936
Completely different and conflicting reports every day.......... sign of a Government in panic.
Ricardo
Q. When is an 'Inspection' not an Inspection ? A. When it's announced in-advance, then it's a 'Raid" !
bkk_mike
Truly unbelievable. Even if there was no widescale corruption, any proper check would have found something wrong, or are they expecting us to believe that across all 2,100 places, NONE of the security guards occasionally takes a bag of rice home to the family. They were surprised to find them empty after being told they were full?
belg
it is a MIRACLE thailand that not more rice disappear and reappears in another whorehouse, sorry, where ? house ?
Hobiecat
Reading the Bangkok Post yesterday and the memtioned the inspection was going to take place....I'd say they had plently of for warning what was coming.
Anon999
It's interesting to note that there are 2 conflicting reports one that says there are irregularities of which the Thai Farmers have reported to the police and the government that says NO irregularities have been found. With a stock check of that magnitude, even if carried out meticulously, there would be some discrepancies without question. Therefore the government statement shows they do not even know the law of probability and make a statement that is patently unbelievable.
slapout
The cabinet resuffle coverage is being used to draw the media/peoples attention away from this can of worms. The pattern seems to also include, take a foreign trip prior to a meeting/decision, have usless Thai promotional garbage released as a positive indicator, throw out a assination threat now and again, have son/nephew throw out a stink bomb or two, legal spokesman deny some rumor that no one has heard until he brings it up, throw in a few disgruntled members of coalation whinning, point finger at past government as wrongdoers, etc. If as much time and effort were put into reliable government, as has been put into slapping each others back, covering up the truth, and finding a judas goat, to blame for the mistakes and incompentence over the past 20 months, Thailand might be seen as a good point man/nation instead of the jackass who manages to screw up the system. Ricardo
Two thousand one hundred inspections so far, and not a single example found, of even a minor book-keeping or stock-counting error ? Either Thai-accountancy is maintained to a hithertoo-unsuspected high-standard, or these inspections 'raids' aren't turning up anything worthwhile at all, which seems more likely. No doubt Moody's will form their own opinion, as to which possibility is the more likely, Good For Them !
rubl
Does the 'redundancy' Dept. Minister for Commerce Nattawut spoke about mean that with 30% of rice millers and warehouses inspected and no irregularities found some statistics can be thrown in to show that inspecting the other 70% would be a waste of time?Next I expect someone to ensure us that all inspected had been selected in a very random way. No irregularities ???? no missing rice--just just sent to inactive warehouse, All monies easily accounted for ??? Therefore it must be a good sceme....Thought out so well with good intentions ??? billd766
Absolutely nothing wrong, missing rotten, unaccounted for at all? Nattawut has a bridge for sale cheap to everybody who believes him.
Moruya
Some representative of the downtrodden poor this turnip turned out to be. The only thing he fought for was to get his boss' and assorted cronies noses in the trough. Those on here who likened him and his fellow leaders of the red foot clapper society to freedom fighters should hang their heads in collective shame Sent from my Nexus 4 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
