ACAPULCO, GUERRERO (BNO NEWS) -- Mexican authorities on Friday launched an investigation after the bodies of seven young men and children were found in the country's southwestern region.

The bodies were found after a telephone call informed the local authorities on Thursday evening at around 6 p.m. that a number of dead bodies had been seen in the municipality of Coyuca de Benitez in the state of Guerrero.

Police later reported that among the killed were three boys, aged 13 and 14, while the eldest was 24 years old. In addition, emergency teams rushed two survivors for medical treatment, but one of them succumbed to his wounds before reaching the hospital. He was 12 years old. The other survivor was reported in critical condition.

According to preliminary reports, the victims commonly gathered at the crime site where they used drugs, but on Thursday, an unidentified group of armed men attacked them. The victims were found with gunshot wounds to the head.

Guerrero's Attorney General Office confirmed that investigations were launched in order to determine the details of the incident.

More very sad news out of Mexico. Particularly troubling since the victims were so young.

Yes. Truly crazy down there. Two other teens were lured to a farm, tortured and killed this past week in Jalisco and seven severed heads found on side of highway same day in Jalisco. 12 teenagers recently kidnapped, tortured and killed from single establishment in broad daylight in Tepito.

So very, very different from the Mexico I used to visit as a child and later, as an adult, during the 60s and 70s. Back then the biggest danger was the need occasionally to bribe the interior border police you usually met about 20 miles into Mexico. I would not even think of travelling there today. So sad. I used to love Mexico and think I might retire there, instead of Thailand. Not a chance of it, now.

I agree with you Z.

I miss my Baja. Camping on the beach in our vw van, surfing as much as we liked, living off the roadside tacos, and 25cent pacifico beers.

If baja was peaceful, i'd probably still be in the US.

So you can blame baja for me being here blink.png

Ok that and my ex bah.gif
