July 9, 201312 yr I read something in the Daily Mail ( English one )that might be of interest ... of course you have to take anything written in that paper with a large pinch of salt. Anyway it's in the health section ... look for the paperclip article or www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2358561/Me-operation-Putting-paperclip-leg-cut-high-blood-pressure.html
July 9, 201312 yr If you suffer with high blood pressure don't follow the op's advice to take a large pinch of salt
July 9, 201312 yr I wish I hadn't wasted 5 minutes of my life reading that article. "Daily Mail" should have been a warning flag. My own stupidity. To save other people the trouble of reading it, in summary, it's nothing to do with paper clips. Joining an artery (carrying blood going from the heart) to a vein (carrying blood back from the heart) makes it easier for blood to complete its circulation, so reduces blood pressure. A small implant stops the joint closing.
