Yesterday I was reading about mycorrhizae fungi and where I could possibly get some and this morning this popped up in my garden.

A stinkhorn mushroom.(?) Apparently they are rare in the wild. My garden can get pretty wild.smile.png

If anybody wants it, I kept it.

Regards.

PM Col Packdee for instructions TT. Your should be able to culture your fungus on a bed of rice in your garden or on nearby rough ground of jungle. You can buy pouches of dried fungal innoculants of different types as well.

That is edible and medicinal mushroom the "Phallus indusiatus" .

Thailand imports the dried mushroom from China without knowing that is mushroom.
We call เยื่อไผ่ (bamboo tissue) for cooking soup and we understand that it is the white tissue inside bamboo.

This one can be grown in straw and bamboo leaf substrate.
The fresh mushroom in egg stage costs more than 500 Baths/kg.

Dr.Anon initiates for commercial cultivation this mushroom.
Who are interested in growing this mushroom can contact him here.

Interesting mushroom indeed. 24 degrees growing temperature and 95% humidity would limit those to special rooms. Current temperatures would be just about right here over the last week here.

I've only ever seen a couple in my garden. First I thought that someone had stuck a joke plastic penis in the soil:)

I had stinkhorn mushrooms in my yard in Canada. Maybe not this exact type, but it looked the same. The smell was terrible, like extreme body odor. I was very happy when they stopped popping up.
