Will be moving to Pattaya next month. The problem is my wife had her thyroid removed a couple of years ago and at present needs to have check-up on her blood every 4-6 months to determine what level of thyroxine she needs to take on a daily basis.

Would be grateful if anyone could direct me to a suitable Doctor/Clinic/Hospital in Pattaya where this can be done on a regular basis.

Thanks in advance.

I had my Thyriod removed, Interesting to know about this, I am sure many doctor clinic in Pattaya will be able to assist your wife with regular blood test, if not you could try Bangkok/Pattaya Hospital or memorial Hospital near soi buakhao. I buys 90 x100gr tablets from Pharmacy in Pattaya, unbelieveable cheap for 100 bt whereas in Ireland cost me €13 for 28 tabs.

Thanks for the quick reply. As mentioned before she only had it removed a couple of years ago and her levels were going up and down - her fault really as she likes seafood too much. Her prescriptions have varied between 50gr to 100gr with different dosage on even and odd days - very troublesome when she forgets to take it and also having to split the very small pills into two for the varying dosages. Seems to be settling down a bit better now so hopefully she wont have to make so many trips to get her blood checked.

Thyroid issues are very common in Thailand so every hospital will have specialists on staff. I am also minus most of a thyroid which was removed here.

Getting the labs done is no problem, several places can do that. The issue to to find an endocrinologist to interpret the results and manage her condition whom you are comfortable with.

There are 4 endocrinologists on staff at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital. I have no specific feedback on any of them. None of them trained abroad.

Pattaya International Hospital does not list any on its website.

There are some excellent western-trained thyroid specialists in Bangkok. Including some at Bangkok Hospital, Bangkok, which is affiliated with Bangkok Hospital Pattaya i.e. you could easily arrange to have follow up and lab tests done at BPH but under the overall supervision of a specialists in Bkk. Personally I would opt for that as among other things, Western-trained doctors are much better about explaining things and involving patients in the decision-making process, communication with Thai doctors who have never worked outside Thailand is sometimes a bit frustrating.
