i can tell you lots about TLM. i used to work for them.

not too sure if i should write my criticisms on a forum though.

Seems to be something similar to the ThaiVisa card that never took off.

Funny thing though, I went to Immigration in Samui today in order to do my 90 day reporting, and

their office was full off carton boxes with Thai Longstay Co, Ltd on the address label..

Had never heard of the Co before so thought that the immigration office just had got a new stock

of forms from a printing company.

Now , later, I guess that they contained leaflets for the Thai Longstay service but am still very curious to know if the government is involved in the company and what the cost of their service is.

Couldn't find any such info on the website..

I couldn't find the prices,either.

But it must be cheaper than the Elite card??

basically they sell accommodation on a long term basis. they also have medical packages, visa assistance etc.

anyone could do the same themselves.

TLM is in partnership with the TAT who invested 100 million baht into the scheme. (I may be wrong on this, but this was always my understanding)

i would say they are on a new drive now after receiving the next stage of funding from their investors.

essentially they are a travel company who sell long term accommodation to people (they are aiming at retirees) in thailand.

they were initially the brain child of the former minister for sports and tourism (sorry, i do not recall his name). he was apparently pushed sideways for a while and then Mr T subsequently appointed him again, and the push for longstay was brought to the front again.

From the previous post, it does not sound like anything yuo cannot do on your

own, with a little help from TV members......... :o

From what I've gathered about it, it's a repackaging of the ol' Elite Card...

the failed-miserably-embarassment-to-all-involved-brainchild-of-the- resigned-PM.

The card names and such match up and yes.... a few additional things have been added, but as Astral points out, nothing one couldn't do themselves at a fraction of the cost.

The thing just refuses to die as more and more taxpayer's baht are pumped into this frivolous garbage.

I'd trust something major shareholded by T.A.T. and initiated by a Cabinet resolution about as much as I would a Nigerian scammer asking for help to withdraw 230 million dollars from a recently-deceased Sudanese Finance Minister's personal bank account.

It's a long-stay ploy to permanently separate people from their funds in exchange for promises of this and that.

So what happens to the the poor few suckers who plumped up a million Baht for the VIP card?
