Wife is thinking of bringing her Mother to the UK next year.

1. Wife is UK Citizen and now holds Thai / UK passports

2. Don't want to Sponsor reason being Wife does not work (can't show income)

I have started my own business and have not submitted any accounts (Can't show income)

3. Can Mother in law apply without sponsorship as it states on UKBA

" If you have enough money to support and accommodate yourself without working or help from public funds, or you and any dependants will be supported and accommodated by relatives or friends; "

4. The first part of the sentence above I am relating to as,

She has lots of money in her bank, lots of land in her name and can fund the trip herself !! :)

5. So has anybody had the pleasure of bringing the mother in law to the UK

Without so called sponsorship ?

Thanks

I'd suggest with those funds she save herself a load of hassle and use the sponsors of this site

I'd also suggest you ask for a loan on easy terms (Thai style) when she arrives.

Tell her you need it for the business and an elderly relative who has a farm in Yorkshire and needs a new tractor and has three cows who have just died.

The word 'sponsor' in a visa application does not mean the person supplying the money.

It means the person supporting the application; the reason for the visit, if you like. Although not all visitors have a sponsor, of course; most tourists, for example.

But this will be a family visit, so her sponsors will be you and your wife.

The funds for the visit can come from the resources of the applicant, the sponsor, both or even a third party. From what you say, I guess it will all be her money.

Whoever is contributing needs to provide evidence that they have the funds to do so.

She will, I assume, be staying with you. If so, you will need to supply evidence that suitable accommodation is available.

With her background I'd suggest she can stay where she likes.

The back bedroom will be the last thing she wants.

I can't answer your question about mother in laws and pleasure.

I'm sure others can.
