Japan Airlines - Eastern Canada to Bangkok

Featured Replies

For those in Ontario or Quebec if you take a look at the Japan Airlines site, you'll see that there are some low priced airfares from Toronto, Montreal or Ottawa to Bangkok in the months of September, November and January.

There are fares as low as $967 USD return from Ottawa and $973 USD from Montreal or Toronto, dependent on what departure and return dates you choose.

I doubt these prices will last very long.

JAL's inflight services are above average, enjoy your flight and layover at Narita Intl. airport.

Was looking for fares for a mate who's coming over in October just the other day and saw this as well sadly they are all via the USA which is a major pain.

He ended up booking EVA from Toronto for $1200CAD and only one stop in TPE

Just so I know, why would that be a pain? Would they have to transit immigration in the US?

That's a great fare.

I haven't transited through the U.S. since the late 1980's. I expect I'll be going though U.S. Immigration and Customs at Toronto International Airport. On the return journey though, when I go through the U.S., I'll be questioned and possibly they may do a luggage search. Plenty of time though for the next connection from Chicago back to Toronto since the layover time is near five hours.

As far as the fare with EVA, ToddWeston's friend did well at $1200. The lowest fare we got offered whether on internet search engines or an Asian travel agency was $1475 for EVA. Cathay Pacific was even more expensive at around $1600. I didn't see any cheap fares with Air Canada, like I did last trip which was $1150.

If the cheap ticket was with a U.S. airline, I wouldn't take it,, but if Japan Airlines service is even half as good as ANA's economy class which I took from Narita to Bangkok and back, last February, then it may indeed be worth the hassle. I'll only know for sure after the flights.
