Hello all. I just wondered if anyone had any knowledge of the cheapest airline for this route right now? Im flying my buddy and his two kids over and the best I can find is Eva airlines GBP 2600.00 for two adults and one child. Im sure I could do better than that? BA, Emirates, China and Thai are coming back way more expensive. Any other ideas?

Muchio appreciado

LON-BKK-LON?

Dates, to and fro? "Right now" is not the best way to define one's travel plans.

How old are the "two kids"?

Preferred carriers? Class of service? Routings? Direct/Non-stop? One stop-over?

I'm guessing you are going to purchase these tickets in the U.K., in GBP?

Try hunting around on the websites. Lots of good sites that compare routes and offer alternative direct, stopovers, etc. You can play with all the variables then and see which you like,

skyscanner.net can be useful but I found a better deal on Jet Airways own website. Thai were charging around 45,000 for a return and Jet were coming in at around 27,000 return. This was a couple of month ago but it may still be relevant.

Of course there's long waits in Delhi airport (7 hours) but still a good deal as they fly to Heathrow, my local airport.

Unfortunately late July, all August and early September is the second most expensive time of the year from Europe to Bangkok (after Christmas to mid February. Too many Northern Europeans have to take their long holiday in these two months (school holidays) even though its not the best time to be visiting Thailand from a weather viewpoint.

Having quickly looked at one of the comparator websites (Opodo.com) you will be lucky to find anything out and back in August (for instance) for a return price of less than GBP 950 per adult and that will involve one stop - typically in one of the European capitals, the Middle East or India.. Use a comparator to find likely airlines then go to the airlines own websites to check out the flight offers. Comparator sites may offer a fare that is lower or higher than the airlines own website but in my (pretty extensive) experience the differences are usually small change only (maybe GBP 20 at most).

No point in hanging on for a lower flight price for the same departure date (there is every reason to delay the trip into late September if that's an option). IME flights go up steadily in the last two months prior to departure. Occasionally there will be an outlier bargain appear and disappear within days but I would put that at a 10% shot only.

My mate's family just flew out here - 2 adults 2 kids. Best they found with an airline they could accept and with reasonable stopovers on skyscanners was around GBP 2,350 for the 4 of them on Etihad. Eventually they got a package deal from Virgin Travel - around GBP 2,500 also on Etihad but including 14 nights at the Sheraton in Pattaya, which is a seriously nice hotel. I thought it was a very good deal.
