Hi

Last year on Dec 28th 2012, I got 10 months Non-O marriage visa till October 28th 2013. I was suppose to get 12 month visa. But my passport is getting expired on 28 October 2013. Therefore the immigration issued me with 10 months visa.

If anybody could be kind enough to let me know some details as under: -

  1. Do I have to apply for the extension in the present visa for 02 months? What is the procedure and fees?
  2. Can I apply together for the extension of present visa for 02 months + next 12 months Non-O Visa after getting my passport renewed from the local embassy?

Thanks and Regards

Cheers

You didn't get a 10 month visa, you got an extension of stay for 10 months, till the date your passport expires.

What you need to do is as soon as you have your new passport/passport renewed return to immigration. They will transfer the permission to stay in your new passport and also give you the two extra months for free.

You will need letter from your embassy and copies of both old and new passports.

No, you cannot already apply for the new 12 month extension, that you can only do during the last 30 days of your permission to stay.

A normal letter of new passport issue to replace current one and asking immigration to transfer stay stamps. Embassy should routinely issue (except UK which seems to always require asking).
