I did it once and had card eaten in BKK as well. (Lightning struck nearby as card was inserted). In the other countries I frequent one only dips the card momentarily, the straight back into wallet. Force of habit.

    Thai logic - money come first :-) is it all Thai banks' ATM like that, or just one or two. I have only KBank experience.

Has happened to me twice!

Makes me feel a little better to know I'm not alone.

I also miss not being able to make deposits at an ATM like I could in the US.

I;m in a remote area and it's quite a drive or bike ride to get to my Thai bank from the village.

Can you buy stamps at Thai ATMs?
