In order to obtain a work-permit and extensions of stay, based on your WP, it's best to visit immigration and the Ministry of Labor. Both do have lists of documents required.

Oops, no, you can't apply for a work-permit, unless you want to work at your own company.

While the visa (Non-Im-B-)is yours to get, the work permit (wp) can only be applied for by the employer. A bunch of company papers are needed for a WP application, like tax records etc.

The place to apply - and at some stage you will have to show up there as proof of your existence - is the provincial labour department.

Not all kind of work can receicve a WP, and from my experience it is the best to apply for work as an export marketing manager, as long as you can show that your work is related in some way to exports.

If you are the first foreigner in that province, expect things to go very slow, as none of the bureaucrats knows how to deal with this...

There you go, next problem:

For you to get a WP there need to be at least 4 other Thai persons on your payroll. At least on the payroll, with the taxes and social security accounted. Maybe, there is no tax for a low salary, but the names must show up in the bookkeeping. And the people must exist.

If you got a resort, then you need not request a change to your company, you just are "marketing" the resort to foreign customers to come to your place... Export, as the Thais normally see it, means money comes in, not necessary goods go out.

Good luck
