SATTAHIP:--The Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture released a large number of brown-banded bamboo-sharks into the ocean at Sattahip as part of the ongoing struggle to preserve and protect the environment. A spokesman for the ministry said that there were 63 species of sharks in Thai waters but they were being hunted to extinction

Has the government been let out early?

Hope the released sharks are able to survive the fishing nets.

Shark attacks on foreigners in Pattaya will be the next big thing here, to keep the locals entertained.

Gotta pay for bite marks on jet skis now. :(

Were these two legged sharks, if not, maybe some of them could be put in the water as well?

Gee a positive story about attempts at environmental preservation and it generates a bunch of juvenile, essentially mindless, comments here at the farang intellectual hub.

But seriously, 100 sharks should last a good 31 seconds, in the overall picture.

Let me say that again: given the number of sharks being caught or killed, it takes people about 31 seconds to kill 100 sharks.

Infographic coming up.. (This might make for a somewhat lengthy post, but it illustrates a point very well)
