susanschwaiger
Does anyone know where to buy bird nest in Pattaya? Just normal quality is ok. My friend is pregnant, and Chinese believe eating bird nest often is good for baby. Last time, in airport, I saw the normal price for 1 box of bird nest is 25K Baht. I'd like to get more info. I will fly to China in Fri night, maybe I can shop some for her. Thanks a lot in advance!
ThaiBob
Every 7-11 I have seen stocks birds nest. I think it is 97 baht. I have seen it in big packages at Tesco in a locked cabinet for cheaper unit cost pricing.

xen
I think there is a company is called Brands and along with a whole lot of potions like ginseng etc, there is a birds nest one. The come in small jars with red lids and there is usually a shelf of them in Tesco . Some pharmacies may carry them too,but not all stores carry a full range of them . Prices range depending on the potion. we used to buy them for MIL a few years ago so i only assume there are still available.

susanschwaiger
Thanks for all the info ! Bad luck that I happen to know China customs now forbidden passengers to carry in dry bird nest. Only cooked one in bottle/jar is allowed. The cooked one, to me, is same like KFC So, no need to buy for her now !

susanschwaiger
Taking birds nest to China? Isn't that like taking coal to Newcastle? Oh oh . It's said the bird nest from South East Asia is the best. South China also produces some, but.... the pollution in China is getting so crazy these days.....Shame
susanschwaiger
The shark fin soup Chinese restaurant near Royal Garden, they might sell it I would think. I think I ate bird nest in that restaurant during my pregnancy. Served with coconut as desert and tastes much better than those sold in bottle in supermarket. Pity China does not allow to bring in bird nest dry products now.
