Calligraphy Pen sets - where to buy in CM?

Featured Replies

Have already tried; bookshop on 3rd floor of KSK, bookshop next to UN irish Pub and bookshop on eastern side of moat...all to no avail.

Am sure I've seen them somewhere, but can't recall where exactly ?

Any other places I could try - appreciated.

B2S, 4th floor Airport Plaza.

There is a stationary store about 100 to 200 feet on the right hand side of the street heading down Thai Pai road from Changklan the road the Night Bazaar is on. That is heading to the moat.

I got some good stuff from Hong Kong via ebay. Quite fast too.

I've never seen top-of-the-line calligraphy pens or drafting instruments for sale in Chiang Mai.

You can usually find student grade supplies. Staedler is probably the best of a mediocre lot. Too bad because fine quality drawing instruments are a pleasure to use, and last a lifetime if well cared for. I'm still using a small pair of Keuffel+Esser dividers that I bought as an art student in New York in the 1960's.

If you were interested in traditional Chinese calligraphy, then you are in a good place to buy brushes, bamboo pens, ink blocks, ink stones, saa paper, etc. Chinese shops here in Chiang Mai have it all.
