What are the advantages of living where you live

I live in the Democratic Kingdom of Pattani. Here are some of the advantages.

Food
Food here in Pattani just goes off the radar. It's way better than anything you can get in Thailand.
Women
Some of the women in Pattani have to be seen to be believed.
Dogs
Muslims don't keep dogs. Muslims regard dogs as dirty or unclean. This means that there are very few dogs in Pattani.
In practical terms, you won't get woken up at all hours of the day by dogs barking. And the likelihood of you treading in "something" is significantly reduced.
Personal safety
Pattani is safer than you may think. The killings (and it must be stated that these are near daily events) are targeted. They're aimed at teachers and the security forces.
But farangs are pretty much left alone. The absence of a tourist industry ensures that you'll never get ripped off or mugged.

So, what are the advantages of living where you live

the biggest advantage of where I live is that I dont have to live next door to lunatics like you...thumbsup.gif

Well that was very rude, wasn't it?

==============

Your seem a tad disgruntled.

Or perhaps a bit miffed.

Or maybe slightly ruffled.

What's your problem?

nothing at all....

I enjoy sarcastic, biting wit....thumbsup.gif

You know, I reckon you might be an Oil and Gas expert. I reckon you may know about Singha Nakhon.

But I wonder if you know as much as I do.

Ever been to PTT?

can you buy western food there. I like thai food but need western food as well. know someone who lives down there and he told me "no western food"

that alone would keep my wife and I away .My wife is a national and loves Aussie beef, fresh salmon, lamb racks cheese etc etc .

NO. You may have misunderstood things. My opening post was slightly flippant

You can't come to Pattani. And you must remember this. Unless you can arrange armed escorts, you can not come here.

I'm extremely sorry if I gave the wrong impression. You can only live here if you have contacts.

This beach is about a mile from my house. I've been in Pattani for two years but I've never been to this beach. It's all to do with the way in which different zones are color-coded according to their safety.

The main advantage of where i live is that there are no muslims or mosques with some bloke wailing from the towers all the time, and we have lots of nice people living all around us,This means that we can go to the beach without someone ,shooting us or blowing us up. and i dont need an armed escort ever ,and no one has shot a monk or a teacher for as long as i have lived here.

We both know how quickly the genie could emerge from that bottle. One magic trick I hope I wont be there to witness.

Pattani 555...

Why not IRAN !!!

It's too far away and I think visas are not straightforward. Lovely people, though, if my experience is anything to go by

I agree. The Iranians (Persians) are a whole different culture. They aren't Arab and they would love to be free. They love everything Western from clothes to music to food. They would like to be like us.

I think Iran, if freed from its dictators, would have the best chance in all of the area of forming a true and good democracy. As it is, when they protest, they are shot down in the streets.
