May 4, 200620 yr Hi Folks, Thanks for all of the info on the new airport. Our plans are to arrive BKK in November, 2006. It may or may not be open. If not, we will stay at our usual place on Cheangwatahna Rd. If it is open, we need to find a nice small place within 30 minutes of the airport. Where should I begin to look? Is Chonburi too far? How far do you think a taxi would be into Chonburi? I wish domestci flights would continue at Don Muang, maybe? Mike & Gina Sri & Ian (the kids) Edited May 4, 200620 yr by boeingmyway
May 5, 200620 yr boeingmyway (or anyone else) what hotel do you use near the old airport? I'll flying in late and out early so looking for somewhere cheap and close!
May 6, 200620 yr I have been staying at the T.K. Palace, on Chaengwathana Road for years. 54/7 Chaengwathana Road, Soi 15, Laksi, Bangkok 10210 Thailand It is a 3 star, 10 min from airport. tel 662-574-1588 fax 662-574-2622, they have a wed site too. i can email you the bus card, it has a map on the back, that way you can show it to the taxi driver. in case you don't know this trick, go up to departure level and catch a taxi that just dropped off someone. They will run meter and it will be only 70 Baht to TK PALACE. If you go to arrival, you will get nicked for 3-400 baht.
