Short Role Description

This position is for one of our Microsoft project.

The Technical Sales Support (TSS) is a pre-sales role with specialized skills who works with Microsoft’s internal account teams to identify and drive opportunities in targeted workloads. The key goal of a TSS is to increase incremental sales volume of specific products, especially those in compete areas, through the generation of opportunities that result in customer licensing wins for that product or solution.

The primary responsibilities of the TSS are to:

· Coordinate with internal account managers to further qualify opportunities and eventually to engage a partner to help close the deal

· Works primarily in the 0-20% sales stage, with a bonus paid on specific closed revenue, deal velocity, and quality of work

· Assign opportunities to designated partners based on skill, ability and customer preference

· Follows up with Partner Account Managers (PAMs) on lead status whilst helping to remove any sales-blockers

· Makes sure all deals are logged and tracked, highlight relevant case study opportunities to the relevant contacts.

· Internal ‘subject matter expert’ for other inside sellers

Responsibility/Activity

Contribute to effective planning and opportunity management

Participate in CTM Territory planning activities to provide input and feedback to ITMs to determine the must win accounts and strategic partners in their territory.

Works with PAM team to identify highly capable partners for assigned solutions / workloads

Technical Proof and Qualification of the Microsoft solution business value.

TSS, in agreement with ITM, contacts prospective customers via telephone and qualifies the opportunity

TSS addresses the customer business needs by translating Microsoft’s technical capabilities into customer value

Determines the most effective and efficient course of action to advance an opportunity toward close

Own and manage the customer and partner technical relationships during the initial sales engagement process as required, answering technical questions and providing answers through available resources. (Through 20% in the MSSP sales cycle)

Complete/update technical information in GSX.

Identifies, engages, and provides briefing to appropriate partner to develop and close opportunity

Strong Self, Internal and External Stakeholder Relationships, Readiness and Commitment

· Conduct self-research, learning and readiness.

· Educate ITMs and other TSS members on assigned solutions.

· Develop and maintain relationships with the external community of users.

· Attend competitive engagements and events.

· Cultivate strong relationships with strategic partners’ technical resources that can contribute to building the pipeline, customer solution adoption and deployment.

· Keep up-to-date on all partner offerings and solutions and seek new partner relationships to enhance or accelerate sales, adoption and deployment.

Commitment to Continuous learning and Development

· Participate in all required coursework and training.

· Identify areas for improvement and career growth and relevant training or readiness.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·

· Minimum 3 – 5 years of related experience

· Bachelor’s degree required

· MCP Preferred

· Demonstrated understanding and execution of solution selling techniques and selling solutions to business customers extensive knowledge in the field of Customer Relationship Management

· Strong, proven track record of consistently holding or exceeding quota using a consultative/solution selling approach, focused on solving customer problems.

· Knowledge of specific Microsoft technologies (ie, System Center, Hyper-V & Forefront) (L100-200) - Desirable but not mandatory

· Knowledge of specific competitive technologies (ie., VMware / Hyper-V specific knowledge) - Desirable but not mandatory

· Working knowledge of Microsoft (partner model, standard processes, etc) - Desirable but not mandatory

· Knowledge in business project and process management

· Strong communication skills including clear and concise verbal and written business communication in English.

· Distinct capacity for teamwork and self-initiative
