Would the program slow down the speed/performance of my computer??

I installed it and it doesn't seem to affect the performance of my computer. Most of the widgets that come with it ,or can be downloaded after installation, are very gimmicky and somewhat parochial to the USA. The widgets sit on the desktop and are a novelty but the only ones that I use are the weekly weather forecast (set for Bangkok) and a calendar.
