This topic has come up once again at my school.

I was advised that Government schools are specificallly by law exempted from having to pay foreigners(and perhaps Thai's) severence after any period of time and/or set of one year contracts.

At the time I had asked if anyone even second hand had heard of a Government school paying a foreigner severence and no one responded.

I'd like to ask once again. Anyone know of a Government school paying three or six months wages as a severence package to a long serving teacher who has gone off her rocker? We are not referring to the typical 90 day notice written in the form contracts. Severence when fired or a contract isn't renewed is the topic. Thank you.

I have heard of people, who heard of teachers getting severance, but I have never directly heard of anyone actually getting it.

Some schools also have a policy of paying some money for a variety of reasons, including finishing a contract. This is not severance pay, but I have heard teachers refer to it has severance pay.
