Man suffers serious burns after contact with power cables at East Pattaya shophouse

PATTAYA:--A 32 year old painter is currently fighting for his life in Hospital after he came into contact with live power cables as he painted the exterior of a shophouse in East Pattaya.

A Banglamung Hospital Ambulance was called to the location inside Soi Kao Noi and medics were directed to the 3rd floor of the building. Lying on the floor of the balcony was Khun Pairat who had sustained serious burns to his entire body.

Medics rushed the man to Hospital where he currently remains in a critical condition with his chances of survival described as slim.

Last week, while eating lunch, across the road, they were constructing a new 7/11. There was a small crane that was about to lift some steel roof rafters, and of course some power lines overhead. I was adding together 1+1+1, and before I could come up with the answer, there was a big blue flash. No one seemed to be hurt, but they all looked around, wondering how that could have happened! They havent quite figured out electricity yet, so this will happen all the time. Most of these small jobs (building a 7/11 or a house) dont seem to have anyone that is in charge, so just a bunch of uneducated guys playing with fire.
