Hello Friends,

Me & my wife both are Indians working in Bangkok with Non B visa/Work Permits. My wife is pregnant & we have some questions about our baby's visa & other stuffs once baby born.

1) Does baby will have both Indian & Thai passport or only Indian?

2) Once baby born in Thailand, how would be the visa processing for baby. Will baby have depenpent visa & that visa can be prepared in thailand only(no need to go back to India) will multiple entries.

What if my wife dont want to work anymore :

1) Can we change her visa type from Non B to Non O(dependent) in Thailand without going back to India.

Appreciate your responses, thanks in advance.

1. Only Indian.

2. The baby nwill needs its won passport or be put on the passport of one of the parents if India does that. Once born you apply for a birth certificate at the Thai district office. upon leaving Thailand you show the birth certificate, that explains why immigration has no record of the child and they will let the child leave without any problem. Upon return to Thailand the child will needs its own visa and be subject to immigration rules.

3. Probably no problem to do that, you will be needed to stay on a 1 year extension of stay yourself so the wife can be your dependent and you need to show prof of the marriage.

You do not change the visa, just the reason for the extension of stay in Thailand.

During the first stay of the child in Thailand the child does not need a visa and non can be aplied for while in Thailand. Once the child leaves Thailand for the first time the child will need a visa (as a dependent of you).

Your wife can try, there are no guarentees, if you are on a 1 year extension of stay yourself. No need to change visa, only the reeason for the stay. She will need to go to immigration the day she stops being employed to change the reaon of her stay (if she is on an extension of stay right now). She will need a letter from her employer stating her last day of employement. Same goes for the work eprmit.

Visa entries of 90 days at a time are not affected.

There is no visa conversion needed or possible.

On the date she is no longer working proven by way of letter from employer her current extension would be cancelled.

At the same time she would apply for a new extension as your dependent.

She would need your marriage certificate in Thai or English.

And copy of your passport photo page and extension of stay stamp.
