Hospital Check Ups / Scans

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

In Europe right now and reading through the Forum feeling quite homesick for CM.

Wife had a cancer problem 7 years ago - luckily caught early - and we like to keep the check ups regular.

Normally consists of Scans for bottom end and X ray top end - plus relevant blood test.

Want to book up in advance.

Heard Lanna Hospital were good - be grateful for any input advice.

Rgds all.

FS.

Inflammatory post removed.

I will strongly second the recommendation of Dr. Rattiya at the RAM.

Both Siripat and RAM hospitals are fine.

Siripat a bit cheaper

McCormick now has an MRI/CT scan machine, new since about a year ago. If all you really need, it may be a bit less expensive at McCormick. If indeed you really need a specialist physician, then yes, Sripat or Ram.

Don't know if this will help you but I was looking through the various services at Rajavej Hospital being as I am going in there for a hip replacement and I found this.

any way it had a cancer check up for 1,400 baht.

Good luck with your hip op. As my surgeon told me 'the first thing you are going to feel after its over is there is no pain'. And he was right.

A friend of mine had a thorough scan done at McCormick hospital and it only took a couple days to organize it. They scanned his knee and ankle after a motorbike accident. I think it cost him about 10000 baht. But, he had to pay before they did the scan. He was happy with the results and it would have cost him over 30,000 baht equivalent back in the USA. In Canada, the average person can't even get a scan unless you are a politician or a professional sports star.

In Canada on their medical plan (BC $66 a month) it is free just takes for ever. A friend of mine had to wait over one year for a triple bypass heart operation. I had to wait a year for an MRI even then the doctor had to call them and ask what was happening.

Oncologists deal with chemotherapy and radiation therapy. not the right type of doctor for what she needs, which from the sounds of it is routine check against recurrence of a cancer already successfully removed. Probably either a a GI or Gyn specialist. Suggest seeing same (as applicable) at Sripat for the necessary tests.

I am not clear whether the need is for endoscopy only, or also CT/MRI and if so, of where and why. A bit more medical history would be helpful.

Here is what it said. Not sure if this is what you are looking for. Hope it helps. I just copied and pasted mods no offence meant.

Those are very generic tests. This patient had cancer in the past, apparently successfully treated, and needs periodic screenings for recurrence. the tests for that will be quite specific and are best done by a specialist in the appropriate field rather than in a health screening clinic.
