Psych01
Hi all! I am having issues installing required drives for hardware on my dual boot notebook. I have Ubuntu 12.10 installed on an external hard drive and Win7 on my C drive. Is there any Linux/Ubuntu guru's in Bangkok, that would not mind helping me out, but in person please? As one issue is that my internet connection on the Ubuntu OS keeps dropping out every 20-30 seconds. PM me if you need more details. Cheers in advance. Psych01
Sorry, wrong info. Ubuntu 12.04 as installed with Wubi and it is on the C drive along with Win7, not on an external.
aarn
I think Ubuntu stopped suporting Wubi - but that is not the source of your prob. I would delete the wubi file, backup all data create a partition [start button - type 'Disk Management' - resize C so you have a new 10Gb partition] put your linux.iso on a 2+Gb usb using 'unetbootin' (from www.sourceforge) boot from the usb to check unetbootin has worked then reboot from usb and and click 'install to disk' when linux. sorry only distant advice... After a while, linux will get hold of you... Cheers, AA
diceq
What WIFI adaptor do you have? Not all hardware manufacturers produce working drivers work Linux. If that is the only problem you're having, I'd try with another WIFI adaptor.
