lopburi3
One of the best government hospitals is across street at North-west corner (Chula) and offers appointment service upstairs in high rise building to left of emergency room (believe on 12 floor for registration). This would likely be the cheapest but may require some Thai to navigate. Saint Louis Hospital is a private non-profit hospital only a short distance away with much more English. Sheryl
Yes, Chula, St Louis or Bkk Christian. Chula will cost the least but involve some red tape and waits etc and need a Thai speaker on at least the first visit. Utilize their "after hours" clinic on the 13th floor (from around 4 PM onward) rather than the public channel, reduces the delays and also more senior doctors. (The public channel will take days of rerpeat visits befire you get a specialist, and even then it will be an intern or resident). However wherever you go, should spend some time on selection of doctor. All hospitals have some that are mediocre. You want an orthopedic specialist with special interest/experience and training in knee disorders, preferrably in a western country. In St Louis, suggest: Dr. Aree Tanavalee - Saturday evenings only. He is also at Chula so might be able to see him at the after hours clinic there. DR. Srihatach Ngarmukos - have to cal the hospital to ask when he is available. He is also at Chula so might be able to see him at the after hours clinic there. Dr. Prachan Banlhasuek - thursday mornings Dr. Pongsak Yuktanandana M.D. (Sundays & Thursday) At Chula, you have to go there in person and talk to the nurses in the 13th floor to see who is available as no website and not all the senior Docs at Chula have hours there. Ask first for either Dr. Aree Tanavalee or Dr. Srihatach Ngarmukos. If neither of them have hours there, ask the nurse for a senior acharn (Professor) specializing in knee problems. I am unfortunately not able to recommend whom to see at Bkk Christian as their new website is only in Thai, no English.
