Do you have a non immigrant O or O-A visa? Is it single or multi entry? How long is your permitted to stay? Yes entry date is the start of 90 day address report period if you do not have to leave or extend at the end of 90 days.

What is your current permitted to stay stamp in your passport - the stamp immigration gave you on entry? Are you permitted to stay until August 2014? Sorry but want to be sure so can be sure information provided is accurate. It indeed appears you had a single entry O-A visa and should be allowed to stay until August 2014 so will need to make first 90 day address report using TM.47 90 days after your August entry and be aware that you will require a re-entry permit for any travel out of Thailand before leaving to keep your stay alive for use at return (it will act as your visa/permitted to stay) and you enter that information in the visa area of entry card.

You can not have a March permitted to stay on a single entry visa entry - you must have just entered on a re-entry permit so 90 day stay for address reporting will be from that entry date starting at day one as day of entry.

I have o-a visa, if you leave the country and come back in before the date in your passport ,you will get 12 months stamp in your passport. I did it twice, once from Lao, once from Oz . So my 1 year visa was good for 2 years. Regards

Not with a single entry - he will lose his stay if leaving without a re-entry permit to keep it alive - only when you have a multi entry O-A visa do you obtain a new one year stay on each entry during validity of the one year visa.

"when i need to renew the retirment visa."

You're not renewing a retirement visa. If you're staying in-country, you'll be applying for an annual extension of stay based on retirement. If you leave the country without a re-entry permit, you'll be back at square one and need to apply for a visa outside of Thailand. Immigrations doesn't issue visas and nobody renews them.

All this may sound pedantic, but the misuse of terms in some of these threads really causes a lot of confusion.
