I've been getting very sick since moving into this condo 7 months ago. I've found loads of hidden mold in the bathroom and a hidden leakage in the ceiling which is probably infested.
I'm allergic to various types of molds that grow indoors but the real problem is I'm reacting to the mycotoxins. When I stay at another place I generally feel a bit better although my health is still declining. I show all symptoms of mycotoxin poisoning and/or mold infection. Several doctors have told me to avoid mold at any cost and to see an infectious disease specialist. The problem is where to find a good one? I've been to so many Thai doctors and most of them really lack knowledge or are not up-to-date, even the ones at bumrungrad, sorry to say.

So what I need is an infectious disease specialist with knowledge of mold infection and mycotoxins and who thinks out of the box, no protocol doc. Any ideas where to find one?

Not to belittle your plight but i see mold allergies referred to many places.

Is not mold natural and everywhere and no problem for a normal healthy immune system???

or it depends on the type of mold???

like mushrooms some are rare and dangerous?

I have aspergillosis, which is a lifelong illness caused by breathing in certain types of mold spores. I became infected in the UK in 2002 after working in a damp, unheated basement office. It was the primary reason why I relocated to live in Phuket, where the climate is extremely beneficial to my illness.

To the OP, what on earth are you still doing living in that condo if it has mold or fungal spores? Your health is highly likely to improve if you do not take positive action to remove yourself from the source/exacerbant of your illness.

Mold/fungal lung infections are not common in Thailand, and you may find it hard to locate a doctor who knows about these risks and illnesses.

There are also self-help groups on the internet with qualified and experienced doctors.

I am puzzled by the recommendation that you see an infectious disease specialist since with mold the problem is usually an allergic reaction, not infectious. And with mycotoxins it is poisoning.

Could you be more specific as to what "symptoms of mold infection" exactly you have?

One can become allergic to mold if exposed to it for a long time. Not only that, certain molds excrete mycotoxins which can be very detrimental to your health.

If your immune system is impaired then the fungus can go systemic and proliferate.

I'm sorry to hear that you have aspergillosis. Is it systemic or confined to your lungs? I'm getting tested for aspergillosis this week. Multiple allergy tests have already shown I'm strongly allergic to apergillus and some other molds that grow indoors.

I've already moved over to another place and my breathing / sleep has improved.

Care to send me a PM with more info about the groups?
