September 22, 201312 yr In the 10 years I've lived here in the Doi Saket area, this year seems to be the worse and has been confirmed by the locals. Seems like the rainy season always brings an increase in power outages and we suffer them sometimes on a daily basis, but this year, we're getting them much more frequently......sometimes 4 or 5 short outages followed by low voltage for a few minutes and also getting 3 to 4 hr total outages. Have others in the D.S. area been experiencing the same and what can we do to correct it??
September 22, 201312 yr Terrible. I plan to put in an inverter/battery bank for short term sags and a 10 kW generator for longer term outages. How's that faidap hotline # been workin for ya?
September 22, 201312 yr Author Sounds like a good plan CH, as it seems to be getting worse..................maybe all the work crews are putting in their energy on new developments and forgetting their old customers. We're on our own in LOS. The fie dap number doesn't always get quick results.............but some times they do respond. Are you going to get a ready made back up or DIY?
September 22, 201312 yr Yes it is frustrating but you might explore a bit more with some good contact with the electric company, they may be just about to complete an update. Yeah it is a long shot but it would be better to check it out than to spend big bucks on your own equipment only to find that shortly thereafter the electric company has really fixed the problems.
September 22, 201312 yr Very strange, I have lived for the past eight years about seven kilometres on the Chiang Mai side of Doi Saket and have hardly had any outages this year, certainly far less than previous years. In fact I don't think it has gone out more than once or perhaps twice at the most in the last six months.
September 22, 201312 yr Fie dap muck muck! Is that you a) showing us that you speak Thai, b.) showing us that you think that you can speak Thai, c) showing us that you have invented a new system of phonetics, or d) showing us that you have a sense of humour, warped as it may be? Here in Pai our road suffers frequent failures when the lights are still on down in the valley. I suspect some localities just have less robust circuit breakers and it's cheaper to send a guy out with a bamboo ladder to reset it than it would be to upgrade.

We're both at the end of the line, in face you are beyond the end in DS and our transformers are old and line maintenance is minimal, so it may not get any better.
