Easiest Visa For A Long Term Stay?

Featured Replies

I am a german Guy aged 25, I have no work permit and I am not yet married to a Thai... maybe in about one year. And I don't have 3 mio bath to invest.

I entered Thailand about 5 weeks ago with a Non Immigrant - O Visa (single Entry) and I am now wondering what is the easiest way to stay here for a longer time. I know that I could do the Visa run every 30 days e.g. to Cambodia, but i consider that as a bad solution coz I don't want to "waste" my passport pages too fast. Is there a possibility to go to Viangchan for Example and apply for another Visa type that can give me another 90 days? And how does the multi-entry Visa work? Can I just cross the border to a neigbour county and come back in order to get another 90 days ? I don't feel very confident about what is possible and what is not possible.... can anybody help me to clear up the mess?

Thanx in advance

You may be able to obtain a tourist visa in Vientiane if that is what you mean. That will allow a 60 day stay and can be extended for 1,900 baht for another 30 days at an Immigration office. If you travel to Malaysia you may be able to obtain a two or three entry tourist visa that could cover up to almost 9 months. Otherwise you are limited to 30 day border crossings.

Thanx for the Information so far, but there is still something not 100 % clear to me.

In case I go to Malaysia and I can get a 2 or 3 entry Visa that would mean I can stay 90 days in Thailand right?

And then? Do I just have to cross the border to a neigbouring country and come back in order to get another 90 days, or is there something more to do e.g. 90 days report? Does it matter where I go? Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar is also possible or do I have to go back to Malyasia?

And one last question: which place is recommended by U experts to apply for such a 2 or 3 entry Visa, KL or Penang?

You would do me a great favor by bringing light into this Visa-jungle.

In case I go to Malaysia and I can get a 2 or 3 entry Visa that would mean I can stay 90 days in Thailand right? Each entry will give you 60 days, which can be extended by a further 30 days by visiting immigration and giving them 1900baht.

And then? Do I just have to cross the border to a neigbouring country and come back in order to get another 90 days, or is there something more to do e.g. 90 days report? After your first entry and extension, just do a border crossing (you must enter another country) and you will get a further 60 days (using the second entry of your visa).

Does it matter where I go? Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar is also possible or do I have to go back to Malyasia? Any border crossing will do.

And one last question: which place is recommended by U experts to apply for such a 2 or 3 entry Visa, KL or Penang? Penang is popular for tourist visas, if you use an agent a 3 entry should be available. No info on tourist visas in KL.

Right now I stay in BKK. How and where can I contact an agent and how much do I have to pay to this guy? Do U have any advices?

Is Penang only popular for tourist visas? Provided I have the right paperwork (which I do) is Penang recommended to go for a Non Imm-b (3 months will do, my work permit will be done by then)? Or is another embassy/consulate easier?

Penang are currently asking for a WP-3 before they will issue a non-B :o

May be better to go to KL.

You still have to go to Penang.

Do a search on the forum for "visa agents penang", there have been a few threads recently discussing the merits of various chaps there.

I was just going to ask a very similar question about getting a 3 month stay in Malaysia.

So, can one simply go to Malaysia and get a "month stay in thailand" at the imagration at their airport? Who must you contact once you get to Malaysia in order to make this happen? One friend told me he stays the night at some hotel, gives his passport to somebody at the hotel, then they do whatever is needed, & he gets to stay for another 3 months in Thailand. Anybody know exactly how to do this & who to talk to?

As Crossy already mentioned.... have a look at this page:

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?sh...&hl=visa+agents

But what I still worry about is the fact that U have to hand out ur passport to somebody that U´ve never seen before and u dunno if u can trust this guy. Has anybody had serious problems about this or heard something bad? And is the situation still the same as in that discussion about one year ago?

Thanx for for any comments
