It is 400k baht in the bank for 60 days for an extension based upon marriage. The 800k is for retirement.

From 2.18 of police order 777/2551.

(6) In the case of marriage to a Thai woman, the alien husband must earn an average annual income

of no less than Baht 40,000 per month or must have no less than Baht 400,000 in a bank account in

Thailand for the past two months to cover expenses for one year.

Thanks for that.I will go back and see if I can talk to some one else.As they are getting quite nasty at this immigration office.Always used to be OK.

One example.I was sitting waiting when an obnoxious officer comes up and points a camera in my face and takes a flash photo then says you farang what you want.

I know this is Thailand but are they allowed to just take your photo without asking?.

If it is good manners is another question, but also in my own country I am allowed to take photo's of someone in a public place. What I am not allowed to do is publish it, as the portrait rights are with the person depicted in the photo.

You can complain about his manners to immigration and use an online complaint form. His problem is probably a lack of English language skills more than bad manners tough.
