International Schools in Surat or NST

Featured Replies

I have been thinking of moving to Nakhon for a few years now. My wife is from Nakhon, A.Muang, my in-laws live close to the Ocean/Robinson.

I really love Nakhon and I am sure that we would be happy living there. My only concern is about schools. We do have a 3 year old who is now going to an international kindergarten in Phuket. He is growing up fluent in 3 languages, as I only speak my native German with him, my wife in Thai and kindergarten is all English. I would like to keep it that way and give him that chance for the future.

Are there any international, quality schools in either Nakhon or Surat?

I have found the Nakhon City School, but not sure if this is any good. Their facebook page is all Thai, so are they really that international?

Where do you send your kids?

Cant comment with any terms of reference on the other schools in NST but stay away from the Si Thamarat school at all costs.

Which one is the Si Thammarat School. Do you mean Srithammarat Suksa School?

What´s wrong with it?

The school is a joke. Quite a few of the staff are openly racist and the standard of teaching is atrocious. Don't believe me? Judge for yourself take a walk around the classrooms any day of the week and observe the children out of control or asleep in the overcrowded classrooms. And finish off by going into one of the English language classrooms and try and decipher what is considered to be English on the walls and blackboards. Discipline? The stick! And observe the number of pregnant students.... Other than that it is a fine school.... Am I being over critical? A tad perhaps....
