Website Hosting

Any recommendations for a reputable website hosting service in Thailand for my online business?

I am currently in the process of setting up Siam Pay as my online payment processor with a local bank and want to get my site hosted in Thailand.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe I'm paranoid, and others will know more than I do, but if I were working in Thailand without a work permit, I'd host it in a different country. Some use Singapore and maybe the US or UK. In the US, 1and1 dot com is huge.

The website will be completely in my wife's name who is Thai. She is now listed as the owner, contact and admin on Who Is, the business has been registered with the Thailand Department of Business Development in her name, the payment processor will be in her name (SiamPay), and the money all goes into her bank account. It is strictly an on online business offering a service and no physical goods are actually sold or shipped.

With that being the case, would it be no problem using a hosting service in Thailand and someone locally who can periodically update and implement changes on the site? Thanks.

I suppose not if you can find a good host with plenty of bandwidth and 100% uptime.

As for updating, the best hosts have software that allows you to log on and make all the changes you want. You use their easy point and shoot software. They will also design your site for free because they have such good software and templates. Some are good enough that you build your own site from a simple menu.

Actually, the site has been up and running for over 4 years in the states so no need to build a new site.

The tax laws for online small business in the states are killing me though, so I'm taking it all offshore, out of my name, and out of reach of the long arm of the irs hit man. I was looking at the website of Thai Hosting (dot) Asia. I don't know of any company though that offers 100% up time..

When reading this I can't help but think you don't really know much about this topic hence such a vague post?

Honestly there's very few hosts who have their own software that's worth using. And I'm not sure many will design a site for you for free.

What most people do is get hosting with somewhere like Hostgator or Bluehost and then install Wordpress which can be done with one click from your cPanel.

Wordpress is a very powerful and flexible software that has a million and one themes you can customize for your own needs. It's pretty much point, click, drag and drop. All very easy to use.

Would be what I (and most other people) would recommend to someone who isn't too familiar with building website.

Actually I'd recommend it to everyone even if they are familiar with building sites. It's a great bit of software and I use it on all my own sites.
