britmaveric Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 (edited) Beer Bar owner injured in assault and shooting in North Pattaya. Police Lieutenant Colonel Omsin from Pattaya Police Station was called to the Yut Beer Bar on the corner of Soi 2, North Pattaya after a shooting had been reported at the location. One man, later identified as the owner of the bar was injured and had sustained a single gun shot wound to his stomach. Police spoke with bar staff who mentioned that a group of Thai men had taken a liking to one of the women working at the bar, Khun Janta aged 20. She was advised by her sister who also works at the bar that she should ignore his advances. However, on Tuesday Night, the man along with his friends returned to the bar and became angry when Khun Janta informed him that there was no possibility of them forming a relationship. The owner of the bar, Khun Chanyut aged 45 was contacted and told to come and clear this problem. He arrived with a gun and a radio and pretended to be a Police Officer. This did not faze the jilted man and his friends, who attacked Khun Chanyut and disarmed him. One of the gang members then turned the gun on Khun Chanyut and shot him in the stomach. The radio was also taken and the group fled. Police are now searching for the group and are questioning Khun Janta who should be able to provide information on the man and his group. -Pattaya City News Tuesday 26th April 2006 Edited April 26, 2006 by britmaveric

Hmmm, no mention of charging Khun Chanyut with a crime (possible illegal possession of the weapon he ended up being shot with, impersonating a police officer, ect). Maybe the BiB figure getting shot was punishment enough ? Might have to check this bar (and Khun Janta) out. Is she that hot ? Wonder what her sister would think of me ?

Hmmm I been at that bar before - has a rock/roll band set up in the front off to the side. Across from there is Classroom2 GoGo.
Joey Boy Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Im glad to see pattaya is getting back to normal again, it was a very quiet high season news wise
Chopper Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 ...and now for the real story. The Bar owner is a Policeman who also happens to moonlight in the bar business. He was off duty at the time of the incident. He was on Bar duty. Where the story gets interesting is the girl in question was not being pestered by the Thai man. She happened to be pestering him as she has been for a while. A fact known by all the girls in the bar. The trouble started when the Thai bloke pushed the girl (who was very drunk) away and she fell over. The Bar owner (Yut) then intervened to see what the fuss was about. They moved away from the bar to 'discuss' things and two shots were fired one of them hitting him in the stomach. I was told it was not the copper's gun that was used but the Thai blokes. I am sure PCN will follow up once the ballistic report is in. Kerryd, as for the girl Janta, well, I would give her one.
cobra Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Jesus, it's turning into the wild, wild west, Now you have to worry about maybe some errant rounds whizzing by, because of retards who are packing, Not liked the old days when the worst you had to be concerned about was some pissed off L -Boy trying to scratch your eyes out because ya told then to go f.. off when they approached,

I think you had the first line wrong. He is a bar owner that moonlights as a Policeman ! Gees, does every cop in Pattaya also own a bar ? Is that part of the police recruitment drive ? "Be a cop, own a bar !" or "Free bar for every recruit that passes the basic policeman's course !" I wonder though. If it was the girl that was pestering the Thai guy, why did he keep coming back to that bar ? It's not like there's a shortage of drinking establishments (with live music). As for Janta, well, I think I'll have to pass. The one I'm seeing now is just too ###### cute and sexy to risk losing. (hmmm, type a 4 letter word like "d a m n", and you get 6 #'s instead) Edited April 26, 2006 by Kerryd
Mighty Mouse Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Wowee. If you walk into this bar and order a shot of whiskey they shoot you in the stomach. It's safer to quench your thirst from public drinking fountains.
monty Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 It's not the first time in that area, I recall a couple of years ago where some drunk farang wanted to intervene in some dispute, he ended up shot dead and his drinking friend wounded. If I recall corectly it even was a machine gun used. Location was in one of the beerbars where Atlantic bar is located (2nd road, corner soi3)...

scotsman Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 I was shocked to hear this news as I know juth very well and as far as I know he is just a bar owner that plays in the rock band in his bar. I hope he makes a full recovery It must be a very worring time for his wife & son.
britmaveric Posted April 27, 2006 Author Posted April 27, 2006 Hmm have to ask for Janta next time I pop down there with my gf. I must admit I'm curious now since all were pretty average. Who knows this might be good for Janta's business?

Yut is the bar owner, and his wife used to be the cahier there up until a couple of years ago. I work in BKK, but every time I've been to Pattaya with my wife in the last five/six years we've always dropped in on Yut's in North Pattaya. Sometimes for four or five consecutive evenings - the music is that good - and not the usual old bump - bump - twang - twang - that you hear at a lot of other beer bars. I was there last month (9th and 10th April) and took the pics posted below then. There sure were some nice girls there and it seemed to me, more than ever, that Yut was dominating - with his music - custom - girls - the whole of the immediate beer bar area. This Janta could have possibly been a former girlfriend of the Thai in question and he got to find out where she was working. Just supposing. Incidentally, Yut is not a police officer. I don't know where you got that from? This incident could possibly have been engineered by a rival beer bar operator/s. Thais don't normally mess on terrain that is exclusively farang. Most of the customers, if not all, have been farang - and - in general - Thais would not dream of drinking there. Maybe Yut got too successful for his own good - just a thought - Wishing Yut a speedy recovery and quick return to the bar. A great rock bar. Hendrix, Stones, Van halen, Scorpions etc. Edited May 3, 2006 by bulmercke
scotsman Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 I agree with you he is a nice man who loves playing rock music in his band I have known him for over 8 years. I also used to go there a lot with my wife as they play good music. I have been trying to find out how he is I will be asking some of my wifes freinds on friday. I do hope he is making a speedy recovery.
bulmercke Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Does anyone have any information on Yut? Is he back playing in the bar? Or does anyone know if the bar is open at the moment, for that fact? Goin' down to Patters for a few days next week. Any info. would be appreciated.
scotsman Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 yuth beer bar is still open and the band is still playing I was told by some of the girls that he should be ok he is recovering in hospital, so thats very good news.
bulmercke Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Happier times - March this year - Good news the bar is still 'up and running' -
Master Chief Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 ###### Janta I knew she was fooling around with a thai man, I should not have trusted her with my bank savings! Why do I always fall in love with the worst and still so innocent little creature.
devo Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 gee in Pattaya you can be a Policeman and own a bar, it is for this very reason that in my country NZ you can't even work in licence premises, be a bouncer, let alone own a bar. big conflict of interests. who monitors licensing laws when a cop owns a bar. i guess different in developed world.
nathansouthall Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Yeah, I used to live on Soi 1 and frequented this bar and the others round it very often. I know the guy that got shot, had a chat with him a few times, always seemed a nice genuine guy. Hope he recovers ok. Anyone got a pic of this Janta girl? Anyone ever played 'hide the salami' with her? I'm sure we'd all be grateful to catch a glimpse!! hel_l, maybe I'd go look her up in June when I am in Pattaya. 'Is that a gun in you're pocket or are you just pleased to see me?' As for the shooting, you gotta have some balls (or no brain) to do that in this part of town, it's always bustling with people on that corner, Big C is right opposite as well. N@
Chopper Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 bulmercke, have you received any update on how Yuth is doing?
bulmercke Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Chopper - sorry - no fresh info. Would really like to know myself how Yuth is doing, but based in Bangers. However, raro mentioned in a PM last week that he was planning on visiting Yuth in hospital in the not too distant future. Hope everything works out for the best in the long run. Watched Yuth's VCD again this evening. - "Live At The Yut Bar" - well worth getting a copy of. Excellent. Any info. - will post.
