Moving to Thailand-assistance please

Hello everyone,

I don't know whether this has been thrashed to death, or not but here goes:

I am looking for somewhere permanent to rent south of Pattaya, somewhere quiet, yes I am now old and don't want to do the bar scene any longer, the liver has had enough.

So, if anyone could give me some clues on quiet towns, on the beach I would appreciate it.
