Going on holiday to Thailand for a total of 43 days, with the thai wife & family, I am British, family all Thai Citizens, do I require a visa ? or will I be issued a 60 day tourist visa to cover my stay in Thailand on entry?, not leaving Thailand during my holiday, if I require visa which visa to apply for?

As British you can receive a 30 day visa exempt stamp on entry.

To cover your stay, apply for a tourist visa.

A single entry tourist visa will give you 60 days at entry.

I believe you need to obtain the tourist visa prior to leaving the UK

Hong Kong 180 days and Malaysia 90 day stamps on arrival, Thailand are behind the times and making it more difficult all the time.

And Cambodia lets you buy an eVisa which gets issued and emailed to you in a matter of hours from my experience AND saves a page in ones passport!

Thanks for the replies, I thought I would have to go to the Thai Consulate for the £25 single entry just wanted it confirming wasn't 100% sure.

How soon before departure can you obtain the visa in months?

You will have 3 months to use the visa from it's date of issue. But applying for it 2 to 3 weeks before you leave would be advisable.
