Hello guys!

I'm new here and i have a questions concerning a Visa Aspect.

I will start studying this Novemver for 1 year at the Ramkhamhaeng University in Bangkok.

Due to some organisational Problems (like time-problems, acknowledgements didnt receive yet) I'm not able to apply for a Visa ED in my home country (Germany)

Is it possible to apply for a Student ED Visa inside Thailand? Or do i have to apply for it in another country at a thai embassy/consulat outside Thailand?

I have seen a Document "tm87" from the immigration Bureau in BKK which says sth. about apply for a Full Visa.

Help would be great:-)

my school took my passport and went to immigration and converted my tourist visa to ED, so how about you ask them?

Are you able to tell us the name and location of this very helpful school ?

I have seen reports by members that Bangkok immigration converted a tourist visa and perhaps even a visa-exempt entry to a non-ED visa with subsequent one-year extension for students taking a degree-earning course at a government university.

I suggest you get a tourist visa that would give you more time to get things sorted out. You go can go to school on a tourist visa.

Also unless you have a ticket out of the country within 30 days you can be denied boarding of your flight unless you have a visa.

Agreed. Best get at least a tourist visa from a Thai consulate as the university will take some time to get all the papers together for your application at the immigration office and, of course, to satisfy the airline requirement.

The immigration office usually wants to get the application for a change of visa with at least 21 days remaining on your permission to stay.
