Oxygen Bleach for cleaning tile grout -- is it for sale in Thailand?

Jing That looks like it would do the Job fine. If you are hooked up to a septic system use very sparingly as it will kill the bacterias needed to keep the septic tank alive or else you have to have a honey truck pump out the tank. If you are on the city's main system not to worry!

Yes I know it sounds good.

The question is whether this product is sold in Thailand or not.

I haven't noticed it but on the other hand I haven't even looked for it as yet.

Anyone know?

Jing You can try getting some muriatic acid from any of the pool companies here in Los , they use the acid to remove mold & mildew in the cracks in tile & it works very well. I used to use it for our pool in the U.S. I don't know if you are on sceptic or Pattaya's mains but use sparingly if you have a septic. If by chance the pool companies don't have the acid there are one or 2 types that they will have.

I believe so.

It is found in supermarkets with the washing powders.

I have used Vanish Power O2 for a few years.

There is at least one other brand.

Thanks but checking the website there is no mention that this product is Oxygen Bleach.

JT,

for your purpose i'd recommend H2O2 (Hydrogen Peroxide). small amounts available in beauty parlours or a container of 20 liters from Lomatec, Pools & Supplies, Thepprasit Road.

a beauty parlour will of course charge you an arm and a leg. but perhaps Lomatec will sell you a small amount for peanuts.

every pool supply sells HCL (Hydrochloric Acid) which for reasons unknown is called "Muriatic Acid" in the U.S.

Thanks but I am specifically asking about Oxygen Bleach.

For sale in Thailand, or not?

do you want a solution for your problem or remain (specifically) stubborn JT?

Thank you Naam I knew they called it by another name but wasn't sure of the other name it goes by.I did remember the name last year actually but a brain fart gave me a lapse in memory. Same with epsom salt if you don't know it is Da Klua they people give you the <deleted> look & of course No Hab!

Jing might as well go to the pool shop the baht bus should go right to it. I doubt the American name with bleach in it will work anyway. Alisa tells me Thais don't know it as bleach so it probably the same as epsom salt. A pool shop will be your quickest bet & a hell of a lot less frustrating for you.

Beardog,

i was a newbie in Florida when i argued in a pool shop "i don't want any muriatic acid! simple hydrochloric acid is good enough for my pool!"

Sodium percarbonate, also known as Sodium Carbonate Peroxyhydrate, or oxygen bleach is a free-flowing, white powder which breaks down to oxygen, water and sodium carbonate upon decomposition. It is an environmentally safe bleaching agent.

Vanish Power O2 shows Sodium Carbonate Peroxyhydrate as it's main ingredient!

The Vanish product is marketed for clothing only. Clearly it has OTHER ingredients probably not suitable for tile or they would market it that way.

As far as that acid previously suggested, it took me like two seconds to find authoritative tile care sites clearly stating NEVER to use that product on tiles.

But thanks anyway, attitude or not.

I thought I was clear. I am really looking for this SPECIFIC product. How many times do I need to say that?

I reckon the answer is no based on the responses. Oh well.

stop assumptions based on what you read in the net as far as acid is concerned. of course one does not use pure acid for cleaning purposes. the acid on the market for pools is diluted to usually 30% and this percentage one dilutes another 1:5 or 1:10 depending on the purpose.

wishing you a specific nice, clear and attitude free oxygen day with dirty grout.
