It depends where, and with whom, you socialise. I have met musicians who were once in well known bands, ex-bank managers, ex-CEO's of global companies, ex-airline pilots, plus many who have respectable jobs still. But at the end of the day, what others think about me is far from my mind. "Dregs" may be here but they can be found in lots of place around the world if you really want to meet them.

Wait till the haters catch this post! I posted a similar thread in the General Forum and boy do you get to see the narrow minded and vicious thinking of some people here. It never ceases to amaze me how this city (that I am happy to live in) invokes such vitriol.

They tend to be people who went to Pattaya, met a lass who dragged them back to dingowhoopwhoop and now they're far from the fun, being milked by the family, can only slag it off...from afar...

So it makes you feel normal living among the dregs of society?

Who lives "among " the dregs ,do you in your town? as i am sure there must be plenty there as well . to quote Oscar Wilde ," we are all in the gutter but some of us are looking up at the stars" and that does not mean that i am some squeeky clean do gooder ,just a normal guy with a familly who choses to live close to the seaside ,with modern convieniances ,instead of Nakhorn Nowhere where i have to drive 30 miles to a shop.

Why can't Britts speak English?

Maybe they don't want to be understood?

I'm assuming he a Britt and not from OZ or NZ!

Please provide a translation in the future!

When I first came here in 1998 I never made it outside beach road and 2nd road, I was single, young and hornywink.png .

It was great funsmile.png.

Then some 8 years later I meet my (to be wife) in Bangkok and moved back to Pattaya with her.

Completly different lifestyle now, a kid, a house and a dog.

I sometimes take my wife to walking street to look, it's like a circus, once max twice a year is enoufh, lol.

I prefer my current lifestyle, I really do.

Yes Pattaya is anything you make it to but people back in the West still thinks it's a place where paedophilia scumbags are having a good timesad.png .

Last paragraph, this conception of Pattaya will never change.

I'm English and know the word numpty but never heard of bampot.

The first result on Google was from the Urban dictionary - apparently it is Glaswegian for headcase......coffee1.gif

if I ever felt superior it is whilst I am in Pattaya, strutting down Walking Street back in the day having made half an effort on my appearance(putting socks on with my sandals)all the crusty old farangs in their vests and cheap flip flops would bow to my presence....

Now I find it hard to strut down Soi Buakhao as there's hardly anywhere to strut and I keep having to dive out of the way of traffic.

Cheers
