I am sick of people going on about how ,just because we live in Pattaya are classed as ,One guy just put it in another thread"the dregs of civilization" well my familly and i certainly are not dregs ,none of my friends are ,they are decent people ,to a man and woman .

Just because single guys come here on holiday and sleep with young prostitutes why do people assume that is the only reason expats live here?

I think the trouble is they read to many newspaper articles and when they do come here(what do they come for) never go further than beach road and walking street.

Then some 8 years later I meet my (to be wife) in Bangkok and moved back to Pattaya with her.

Completly different lifestyle now, a kid, a house and a dog.

I sometimes take my wife to walking street to look, it's like a circus, once max twice a year is enoufh, lol.

I prefer my current lifestyle, I really do.

But at the end of the day, what others think about me is far from my mind. "Dregs" may be here but they can be found in lots of place around the world if you really want to meet them.

I'm with Paddy! I love going to Pattaya because it is so full of normal folks enjoying their stays/retirements/holidays and not really giving a flying fahrk what anyone says.

Most have had a lifetime of having to tow the line, now they get their time in Patts, let their hair down and go for it.

Political correctness aside, yes, there are some "respectable" people over here, but, in truth, the vast majority of farangs seem to be the worst of the worst dregs on planet earth. Far too many give the appearance of having just escaped from a maximum security prison or mental institution. It was not like this 25 years ago.
