Using Puppy Linux To Create A Linux Enviro In Windows

Featured Replies

I read this page: http://ashishpatil.blogspot.com/2005/09/ru...ike-normal.html about using Puppy Linux as a sort of Linux Simulator in Windows.

Now I wonder if it is possible to first install Puppy Linux as a Windows Program, and then install Valknut in it: http://www.linuxsoft.cz/en/sw_detail.php?id_item=210 ...

What do you think? I would rather not install an all new OS next to Windows if it isnt absolutely necessary, the only reason I want to get Linux is because of Valknut.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. :o

You have to install Puppy Linux in QEMU (an emulator). QEMU for Windows is in alpha stage, so you should not count on to much stability.

Another option is to install VMware, a virtual machine (30 days free). It's stable and you can install as much OS as you want in it. http://www.vmware.com/products/ws/

Good suggestion by Wallalai. I've installed several versions of linux under VMWare and works like a charm. Other choice is Microsoft's VirtualPC.
