Hello

I do not know if this is the right place to post this, or if is something new, but may help like general info about this topic....

I live in Thailand for more than 3 years and I was using local public hospitals when I need it...and was satisfied with the services and the cost, even knowing that I was charge "farang" prices.....

I am 69 and cannot be under my wife social security medical government coverage...Only spouses under 60 can.

Well..Since last week, here in Chiang Rai, farangs of any age, married or single, are running to the local hospital to apply for the same plan.

Cost 2800THB/YEAR paid during application and only needs to show and bring copies of passport and prove of residence.

During the application you get a check up including chest x-rays, blood and urine exams, and after 2 days you will receive the same ID card that Thai people have to get service in any public hospital, paying 30THB for doctor consultation and medication. All this was accomplished in about one hour for me just because were 3 friends in front of me getting the same. Can be done in 30 minutes and with a lot of smiles.
